Easy Dinner Alert: Honey Soy Glazed Salmon

Weeknight Dinners

Because sometimes you just need a healthy meal in 20 minutes…

This is a can’t-fail salmon recipe that I always come back to on busy weeknights. It doesn’t require a bunch of pots and dishes — just grab a bowl and line a baking sheet!

On this night I was extraa low on time, so that meant roasted veggies! Just line another baking sheet, cut your veggies up and drizzle with olive oil, season to taste, and roast on 450° Fahrenheit for ~15 minutes while you prep the salmon. One of these days I’ll share exactly how I roast and season my favorite veggies. 😋

FYI: This recipe makes 2 fillets.

What You’re In For:

A piquant, slightly sweet salmon with crisp edges and a flaky center. I love the way the sauce drenches the veggies beneath…goes beautifully with the sweet potato.

Effort Level: 1/10 — There are few meals simpler than this one right here.
Deliciousness Level: 9/10 — TBH, this is my favorite flavor profile for salmon. Lemon Garlic Butter is good and all, but this right here? Delish.

What You’ll Need:

Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon fillets
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Salt, to taste
  • Coarsely ground pepper, to taste
  • Ground smoked paprika, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Season the salmon fillets:
    • Rinse your salmon fillets (Black thing? 🤔) and pat them dry. Place them on a foil-lined baking sheet.
    • Season the salmon fillets with salt, ground pepper, and ground smoked paprika to taste.
  2. Prepare your honey soy sauce:
    • In a regular sized bowl, mix the following:
      • 1/2 cup honey
      • 1/4 cup soy sauce
      • 1/4 cup olive oil
      • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
      • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
      • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    • Pour 1/2 of the mixture onto each salmon fillet, and distribute evenly across the top and sides with a pastry brush.
  3. Cook the salmon:
    • Set your broiler to the high setting, and broil both fillets for 6-8 minutes. Watch it carefully, and don’t place it too close to the broiler, because the sauce can burn easily.
    • If it’s still moister on the inside than you like, you can cook in the oven for ~5 minutes on 400°F. But 6-8 minutes in the broiler comes out just the way I like it!

Enjoy! ♥
